EU-F-Gas-Verordnung: Luftentfeuchter der Dantherm Group erfüllen nun alle Anforderungen.

EU F-Gas Regulation: Dantherm Group dehumidifiers now meet all requirements.

, 3 min reading time

The new EU F-Gas Regulation is fundamentally changing the refrigerant market. The Dantherm Group is reacting early and is already converting central dehumidifiers to the future-proof refrigerant R454C. Find out which units are affected, what advantages R454C offers, and why now is the right time to act.

The updated EU F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573 accelerates the phase-out of high GWP refrigerants like R407C. To ensure long-term compliance and serviceability, the Dantherm Group has switched key dehumidifier series to R454C – offering over 90% lower GWP and reliable, high-performance operation.

What does the regulation mean?

The new regulations introduce strict GWP limits and significant reductions in HFC quotas:

2025: Ban on new equipment with GWP > 750

2027–2030: Significant reduction of HFC quotas

2032–2050: Near complete phase-out of high GWP F-gases

After 2050: Transition to natural refrigerants

This makes long-term serviceability and future-proofing a crucial factor in equipment selection.

R454C offers:

  • GWP 148 (compared to 1’774 for R407C)
  • No Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP)
  • High performance in typical dehumidification applications
  • A2L classification – ATEX zone only required during filling/emptying, not in daily operation

Dantherm dehumidifiers already converted to R454C

The following product families are already fully compliant:

CDP 40-50-70: Swimming pool dehumidifiers

CDP 40T-50T-70T: Wall-mounted dehumidifiers

CDF 40-50-70: Commercial and industrial dehumidifiers

What should you do now?

  • Update refrigerant stocks and service processes
  • Inform customers about the benefits of compliance
  • Specify R454C-based equipment to ensure long-term regulatory security
  • Prepare for the gradual introduction of natural refrigerants by 2032 and beyond
