The new EU F-Gas Regulation is fundamentally changing the refrigerant market. The Dantherm Group is reacting early and is already converting central dehumidifiers to the future-proof refrigerant R454C. Find out which units are affected, what advantages R454C offers, and why now is the right time to act.
The updated EU F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573 accelerates the phase-out of high GWP refrigerants such as R407C. To ensure long-term compliance and serviceability, the Dantherm Group has converted central dehumidifier series to R454C – with over 90% lower GWP and reliable, powerful performance.
The new regulations introduce strict GWP limits and significant reductions in HFC quotas:
| Period | Regulation / Target |
|---|---|
| 2025 | Ban on new equipment with a GWP > 750 |
| 2027–2030 | Significant reduction in HFC quotas |
| 2032–2050 | Almost complete phase-out of high GWP F-gases |
| After 2050 | Transition to natural refrigerants |
This makes long-term service and future-proofing a crucial factor in equipment selection.
The following product families are already fully compliant:
| Model series | Application area |
|---|---|
| CDP 40-50-70 | Swimming pool dehumidifiers |
| CDP 40T-50T-70T | Wall-mounted dehumidifiers |
| CDF 40-50-70 | Commercial and industrial dehumidifiers |
