Master EKO9 9kW Heater Fan

Description

With the "Master EKO9", the manufacturer addresses the topic of comprehensive room disinfection. Using heat, rooms including furniture can be effectively disinfected against pests and viruses with little effort. No chemicals are used in the process. This means that the rooms are immediately ready for use after treatment. This form of cleanliness is particularly promising in the hospitality industry and in industrial spaces. The only requirement for operating the heaters is a high-voltage power connection.

Room disinfection against viruses and bacteria

Numerous studies have shown that viruses and bacteria can be eliminated with heat treatments, usually around 60°C, for example:

Coli bacteria: 60 °C / 10 minutes (Source: Loeffler 1886)
Typhus: 56°C / 10 minutes (Source: Sternburg 1887)
Cholera: 55°C / 15 minutes (Source: Kitasato 1889)
Tuberculosis: 63°C / 3 minutes (Source: North & Park 1925)
Pest: 60°C / 2 minutes (Source: Gladin 1898)

A complete inactivation of the SARS virus, which is structurally very similar to the current coronavirus, was demonstrated after 60 minutes at 67°C (Source: "Stability of SARS Coronavirus in Human Specimens and Environment and Its Sensitivity to Heating and UV Irradiation", Biomedical and Environmental Sciences 16, 246-255 October 2003).

Although there are no certified studies available on the SARS-COV-2 (Corona) virus, it is reasonable to assume that disinfection at higher temperatures is likely here as well. According to reports from "REHVA" and "The Lancet Microbe" from April 2020, Chinese laboratories have deactivated the SARS-COV-2 virus (responsible for COVID19) at these temperatures and treatment times:
At 56 °C: after 30 minutes
At 70 °C: after 5 minutes

Room disinfection against pests

As is well known, private apartments and bedrooms, as well as hotels (especially those of a higher category), are often and almost unnoticed infested with pests in mattresses, carpets, and curtains. In addition to chemical treatment, disinfection with heat has also proven to be effective here. As with viruses and bacteria, it is sufficient to heat the room to about 60 °C for a certain period of time. However, insects are not stupid. If the temperature rises too quickly, they change their location. Therefore, it is important that the heat is not generated immediately from zero to a hundred, but is built up over a certain time interval. If the temperature rises slowly, the pests remain in the room and are killed along with their eggs and larvae. In the heat disinfection of furniture, it is crucial that the inventory is brought to the desired temperature down to the core over a certain period of time.

With the "Master EKO9", these problems can be solved quickly, cost-effectively, and, if necessary, with the required discretion: The operator can choose the desired target temperature for the treatment. The heating operation then starts, with the software gradually increasing the room temperature by 15°C and holding the intermediate levels for a certain period of time. This prevents the temperature from rising too quickly as described above. The "Master EKO9" also has a measuring probe that can be placed in hard-to-reach areas (for example, in gaps between a sofa or mattress) and measures and monitors the effective core temperature similarly to grilling.
