Description
The compact air conditioning units "WFD" from AIRWELL are quickly installed. Essentially, the units are pushed through wall openings or appropriately prepared windows. One side extends into the room to be cooled, while the other typically blows the extracted heat outside, but it can also be directed into an adjacent room. With these window air conditioners, rooms can be cooled, but they can also be used solely for dehumidification if needed.
The side with the operator panel faces into the room, with only a short part of the device protruding from the wall. This side also contains the air intake area with the inserted filter as well as the outlet for the cooled air. The part that extends outward, on the other hand, is somewhat longer and should be supported by a console or a bracket. The device has two air circuits: One refers to the interior space. It draws in warm room air and blows cooled air into the room. The second circuit is located in the outdoor area, where it draws in outside air to release the waste heat outside.
The operation can be carried out either via the keyboard on the device itself or via the infrared remote control included in the delivery. A display shows the values.
Functions of the operator panel
• On/off switch
• Setting of the desired operating mode (only recirculation, dehumidification, or air conditioning)
• Setting the desired target temperature using the up/down arrow keys in the range between 16°C and 30°C.
• Setting of the desired ventilation level 3-stage + auto program
• Setting whether the air outlet louvers should swing vertically or remain stationary (horizontal alignment can be adjusted manually)
• Duration limitation with timer, half-hourly up to a maximum of 24 hours
Drainage of condensate water
"During cooling/dehumidification, moisture is removed from the air. This accumulates as condensate in the device. There are two selectable options for drainage:"
a) As standard, water drips over the condenser coils (the warm part of the heat exchanger in the device) and automatically evaporates with the blown warm air. This solution is generally used as it simultaneously increases the cooling performance. However, it may cause a slight background noise.
b) the water is drained through the existing hose connection, thus not evaporated. Converting to this solution requires opening the housing, but can be done in a relatively short time. This solution causes hardly any additional noise.
operating noise
The operating noise primarily depends on the selected fan speed. The stronger the ventilation, the more noticeable the operating noise is. Compact air conditioning units are significantly more pleasant in terms of volume, unlike mobile air conditioning units with exhaust hoses, but they are not comparable to fixed installed split air conditioning systems.
Air filter
In the intake area of the air, a filter is inserted, which should be cleaned occasionally. The filter serves to ensure that as little dirt as possible accumulates in the device and also to prevent dust from being blown into the room. There is an LED light on the control panel that appears after every 250 operating hours to remind you to clean the filter.
memory function
"After a power failure, the WFD automatically resumes work with unchanged settings."
Further information
Inverter
Inverter technology is more economical because the compressor only runs with as much power as is currently needed, while conventional devices either operate at full power or not at all. In terms of operating noise, inverter devices are usually quieter as well, because full power is rarely called upon.
Power supply
The power supply is provided from the interior. A normal household socket is sufficient.
angle of inclination
During installation, the back of the unit should be tilted a few millimeters downwards to avoid noise or vibrations.
Refrigerants of the latest generation
"With us, you will receive the latest series with R32 (propane) refrigerant. R32 is one of the most environmentally friendly refrigerants on the market and has a significantly lower environmental impact, approximately 600 times less than previous refrigerants."
