Adsorptionstrockner

Adsorption dryers are either directly integrated into the ventilation system or used as standalone units in the room. Due to their very high drying performance with each pass through the device, they are also ideally suited for drying water damage in subfloors or cavities. Adsorbers (also called desiccant dryers) have an almost constant dehumidification performance across the entire temperature spectrum from -30°C to +35°C. They are therefore also perfect problem solvers in cold rooms, even well below freezing.

How does adsorption drying work?

In contrast to condensation dehumidifiers, adsorbers operate technologically without a compressor. Humid air is drawn in and passed over a silica gel wheel. Silica gel has the property of being able to absorb a lot of moisture very quickly. The dried air is then released into the room. Depending on the situation, the dried air is not simply blown into the room, but is directed through ducting into ventilation systems or specifically into cavities, shafts, or substructures, etc. The moisture that the silica gel wheel captures is immediately dried again by a second, counterflowing air stream. This is the so-called regeneration air. This regeneration cycle draws in outside air and heats it with a heating element. This warm air can now temporarily absorb a lot of moisture from the silica gel and immediately release it back into the environment (usually through hoses or pipes). If it is not possible to vent the humid air outside, a refrigerant module that condenses air can be attached. This module allows the humid warm air to condense. The condensate formed is then drained away through a hose.

All adsorption devices are equipped with a built-in PTC heating element. To recover the generated heat, a heat recovery system (HR) can be optionally connected.

"In our offer, we provide adsorption dehumidifiers in various strengths, from small and portable to large, permanently installed and piped systems."

Stationary adsorption drying devices of the Trotec TTR series

Durable, low-maintenance, extremely flexible and modularly configurable with high dehumidification performance even at low dew points.

With our robust high-performance dehumidifiers, you will always benefit from an optimal solution for your drying tasks, as the TTR units ensure effective permanent dehumidification with high capacities even at low dew points.

The application possibilities of these adsorption drying units are as diverse as their extensive standard equipment and the numerous optional equipment extensions, with which the devices can be optimized almost tailor-made for every requirement.

AERIAL series with a fan

The devices of the ASE series are equipped with a fan, unlike the TFT series, which serves both the process and the regeneration cycle.

To expel the humid air, a portion of the process air is passed through the heating element. The regeneration is carried out by a self-regulating PTC heating element. In addition to their heating function, PTC heating elements have an independent temperature limiting effect. This results in a maximum level of operational safety.

"For cost and duration control, the device is equipped with a combination meter (h + kWh). The ASE series includes devices of up to 400 m³/h of dry air."

TFT series with two fans

The devices of the TFT series are equipped with two fans, unlike the ASE series. Thus, the process circuit is not connected to the regeneration circuit.

The regeneration is carried out by a self-regulating PTC heating element. PTC heating elements have, in addition to their heating function, an independent temperature limiting effect. This results in a maximum level of operational safety. For cost and runtime control, the device is equipped with an hour meter.

"Each device in the TFT series is additionally available with a built-in WRG*-module. The dehumidifiers are often installed directly in the ventilation duct, ensuring that the air flowing into the rooms is already optimally dried."

The TFT series includes devices with up to 1250 m³/h of dry air.

TFT Digital Series with two fans

The digital series of TFT adsorption dehumidifiers impresses with its high dehumidification performance even at lower air flow rates. Thanks to the well-thought-out electronic processing, the use of this series allows for the evaluation of all room conditions.

You can integrate the dehumidifier into the existing or planned building management system via Modbus or BACnet. Optionally, you can monitor the airflows, which will also reliably inform you of a clogged filter.

Each device in the TFT Digital Series is additionally available with a built-in WRG*-module.
