A compact dehumidifier with adsorption technology. Adsorption is useful where the room air is cold, or where very low humidity levels are to be achieved. The "DS3" is also ideal for quick laundry drying in cool basements..In contrast to condensation dehumidifiers (dehumidifiers with a compressor), dehumidifiers with adsorption technology have an almost constant dehumidification performance even at low temperatures. They require virtually no lead time from startup until effective dehumidification begins. Due to their compressor-free design, these dryers are lightweight at only 7.5 kg. Technologically, the device would even extract water from the air below freezing point; however, the water then freezes in the collection tray, making 0.5°C the limit for use. Even at warmer temperatures, drying with adsorption dryers is straightforward, but the power consumption per liter of water extracted in temperate rooms is higher than that of compressor dehumidifiers (condensation dehumidifiers). The crossover point is around 8-10°C, meaning that below this value, adsorption dryers are more efficient, while above it, condensation dryers are more effective.Once the target humidity is reached, the dehumidification operation stops, while the ventilation continues for a few more minutes until the device has cooled down sufficiently. Subsequently, dehumidification and ventilation pause until the humidity in the room rises above the desired target humidity level again. The ventilation is powerful and can be adjusted in 3 stages. This is particularly advantageous when drying laundry and significantly speeds up the process. With the vertically adjustable air outlet louver, the dry air can also be directed in the desired direction. On the other hand, it has everything needed for effective and quick drying: powerful dehumidification performance, hot gas defrosting, hour counter, as well as large wheels and a handle for easy mobility on construction and damage sites.     Easy handling   "The commissioning is child's play. Plug in - flip the main switch - done!"   The operation continues until either the bucket is full or the dryer is uninstalled again. As long as the device is connected to the power supply, it runs reliably and there are no settings that can be accidentally changed or manipulated. This also applies in the event of a power outage: when the power returns, the dehumidifier resumes its task with unchanged settings.   Thanks to the professional hot gas automatic control, operation in cooler environments is also possible without any issues, although the dehumidifying power, as with all condensation dryers, decreases at low temperatures. Once the target humidity is reached, the dehumidification operation pauses, while only the ventilation continues to run to determine the current humidity. Various setting options are available to choose from:  continuous operationThe device operates continuously and ignores the measured room humidity. This setting is useful when you want to dry laundry or during the drying of water damage.  Operation with selected target moisture 30 – 90%By pressing a button, any target humidity value between 30% and 90% can be selected (in 5% increments). To prevent mold and odors, it is sufficient to maintain a humidity of about 60%. The ideal setting is therefore 55 or 60%. For economical operation, the software has a tolerance of 6% so that the compressor does not start at too short intervals. The set target humidity value corresponds to the average +-3%.
