Conventional mold tests have the disadvantage that evaluation takes a long time. In contrast, with the "Test-it", it can be determined immediately on-site not only whether a substance is infested with mold, but also whether it is the dangerous "Aspergillus".
Especially the two species "Aspergillus fumigatus" and "Aspergillus brasiliensis" are often found on good nutrient substrates such as wallpaper, wood, or paper. These can be very toxic under certain circumstances. A thorough treatment is strongly recommended.
Application of the analysis
With Test No. 1, you can determine within 2 minutes whether the material on a surface is biologically active. If so, you are dealing with mold, yeasts, or bacteria. This means the surface is not hygienically flawless. Disinfection is advisable in any case.
"Use Test No. 2 if Test No. 1 has shown a positive result. You can now easily and quickly analyze whether the material consists of fungi of the genus 'Aspergillus spp.'"
"If test No. 2 shows a positive result, it is quite possible that the fungus is an Aspergillus fumigatus or an Aspergillus brasiliensis (formerly known as 'niger'). These two species are potentially pathogenic, meaning they can, for example, trigger allergies."
In this case, it is appropriate to have the infestation removed by a professional.
A lab test is not necessary in most cases. However, if immunocompromised individuals are involved, it makes sense to conduct this test nonetheless. A doctor can possibly optimize therapies with the available results.
The test substances are heat-sensitive, so it is advisable to purchase a suitable cooler.
