Gann Hydromette BL Compact B2

Description

Fast, precise moisture meter for detecting moisture in walls, ceilings, and floors. With this easy-to-use pocket-sized quick moisture indicator, you can quickly and reliably track your drying progress on construction sites or during the remediation of water damage.

The electronic moisture indicator operates using a non-destructive measurement method based on the dielectric constant/high-frequency measurement principle. It has a spherical probe for detecting moisture and moisture distribution in solid building materials such as walls, ceilings, and floors (suitable for measuring wood only to a limited extent and as an indicator).

Application

"First, the desired material is selected on an LCD display and saved by pressing a button. Then, the metal ball is held at a right angle to the material to be measured, and the measurement button is pressed briefly. The result is immediately visible."

Handling of a ball measuring electrode

It is important to have a 90° angle to the measurement object as well as the correct positioning of the hydrometer/electrode. To avoid any influence from the hand of the person measuring, the electrode may only be covered by the hand on the rear half during the measurement and control process. The front half (display/sphere) of the device must remain free.

Proper handling of the device: Always hold the device firmly at the lower part of the housing during measurements:

Incorrect handling of the device: When measuring, the hand affects the measurement field of the ball electrode and thereby alters the measurement value.

Weight %: The material moisture in weight percentages (also solid moisture) indicates the absolute proportion of free water contained in a solid in %. Values in the range of 0.2 - 0.3 % indicate dry materials.
CM %: The displayed CM value simulates the extraction and measurement of a material sample in the manometer, where the sample is mixed with
calcium carbide. This produces a gas, the pressure of which is measured. Depending on the material density, the value is very similar to weight %. For anhydrite, 1 weight % = about 1 CM%. For concrete floors, the CM value deviates more significantly: 1 weight % = about 1.5 CM%. Dry concrete floors/walls should have CM values below 2.0% (calcium sulfate or anhydrite screed: below 0.3%).
Thus, the weight percentages are the more easily understandable value for non-specialists.

Advantages and Features

• Handy moisture meter in pocket format for quick individual and series measurements
• For each building material, a limit value can be individually set, exceeding which an acoustic warning signal will sound.
• Scan mode (1 - 199.9 digits) or direct display of moisture values in % by weight or CM-% for building materials, resolution: 0.1 %
• Characteristic curves for 7 types of building materials
• Min, Max, and Hold function for the measured values
• Automatic calibration when the device is turned on
• The device is delivered complete with a 9V battery and plastic box.

Improvements compared to the previous Hydromette BL Compact B

The BL2 is the further development of its predecessor Gann Hydromette BL Compact B.

• Longer measuring probe for more comfortable application
• Significantly stronger high-frequency measurement field for greater penetration depth into the building material
• Finer measurement resolution now from 0-199 digits for an even more precise delineation of moist areas, which was previously only possible with significantly more expensive measuring devices.
• the direct display of the CM % has been expanded to include several building materials.

The manufacturer Gann is one of the leading producers of high-quality moisture measuring devices from Germany. Gann measuring devices are considered the standard among professionals in construction drying and water damage drying. They are also recognized by damage experts in insurance.
